Service Description
Total of 6 classes: 7/12, 7/19,7/26,8/2,8/9, skip a week for drying and firing, final week is 8/23 (glaze week). Three hours per week. MAKEUP WEEK: WED 8/16 6-9 PM Only one makeup class per student per session will be accommodated and will be held on the off week. Beginner - students have completed LEVEL 1 (3 week Intro to Pottery Wheel) In Intro to Pottery Wheel, students experienced the process of making pottery from start to finish. In this next level class, students will have the chance to practice what they learned in the intro class and begin to develop proficiency with their wheel throwing skills. Students will learn wedging and clay management, as well as reviewing and practicing throwing skills, working on cylinder, bowl and plate forms, and pulling and attaching handles. Students continuing in this class session will work on throwing tall cylinders which can be used for shaping pitchers, vases and altered forms. Glazing will be reviewed and all pots will be glazed in week 6. Class fee includes your first 25# of clay, as well as use of studio dipping glazes and firing. Each student is required to have their own tools. Tool kits will be available for purchase (16.00). Bring a hand towel. Aprons are a good idea, but optional. Fingernails must be cut short. Please read our policies. By registering for a class, you are acknowledging that you have read and agree to our policies and procedures. We are located on the third floor and there is no elevator. We apologize to anyone who is unable to take classes due to the stairs. Please contact us to discuss if we can bring the class to you.

Cancelation Policy
Full refund or credit will be issued for any class cancelled by Markgraf Clayworks. If a student must cancel, they may do so for a full refund minus a $25 processing fee up to 7 days before the start date of the class. If a student cancels within 7 days of the start date of the class, they will receive a credit to be applied toward another class. Credit must be used within 6 months. Student will be responsible for any part of class fee greater than their credit due. No refunds will be given on or after the first day of class.
