Service Description

Total of 6 classes: Thursdays 6-9 pm 10/23, 10/30, 11/6, 11/13, 11/20, skip a week for drying and firing, final class for glazing on 12/4. In this six week class (session 1), basic throwing techniques will be taught/reviewed as well as wedging, trimming and glazes. We will work on cylinders, bowls and plates. You will learn how to pull and attach handles. Some surface treatments in addition to glazing will be introduced. Session 2 students will explore shaping tall cylinders, making a matching set of bowls or cups, and lidded pots. We'll explore stamping and carving surfaces as well as have an introduction to surface transfers. Each student is required to have their own tools. Tool kits will be available for purchase (18.00). Bring a hand towel. Aprons are a good idea, but optional. Fingernails must be cut short. Please read our policies. By registering for a class, you are acknowledging that you have read and agree to our policies and procedures. We cannot accommodate makeup classes.
