Service Description

Location: Living City Farms 695 North Ave Tallmadge, OH 44313 Date: Saturday, Oct. 14 (if the weather is deemed unsafe, the rain date will be Sunday, October 15th). Time:11:00am-1:15pm $50 per person Join us at Living City Farms for a hands on clay workshop! First, meet the farmers and enjoy a tour of this beautiful, small-scale regenerative farm (learn more below). Collect plant and other natural materials during your tour which will be used in making your clay project. After your tour, join artists, Karen and Tom Markgraf, making ceramic trays and dishes inspired by the farm. For this fun, hands on clay workshop, you will roll out a slab, or flat sheet, of clay. Create texture and patterns by arranging and rolling the natural materials onto the surface of the clay. Once the texture is complete, the slabs will be shaped using a plate or bowl form, or instantly transformed into trays or dishes using push forms and foam (it's amazing and fast!). You will have the opportunity to add color with underglaze! Each participant will make either one serving dish or tray or four small side dishes. Pair up and make a set! We will take the clay creations back to our studio in Granville, OH to undergo the magic of the kilns and add the clear glaze which will make them food safe and ready to use to serve up your farm forward cuisine! Pieces will be ready to pickup from Living City Farms in approximately four weeks. You will receive a pickup notice when they are available to pickup.
