Service Description

Total of 6classes: Wednesdays- 1/8, 1/15, 1/22, 1/29, 2/5, skip a week for drying and firing, 2/19-final glaze class Advanced Beginner and up - students have completed INTRO TO POTTERY WHEEL and at least one Beginner six week pottery class or have similar experience. We are starting the year of with an empahasis on non-functional wheel thrown objects with an inspiration from historic pottery forms. Using reference to forms, textures and surface treatments from various historic periods of pottery, students will depart from this traditional inspiration to create pieces from sketch to finished project. Experimentation in joining segments, adding attachments, and considering modern imagery will be our model for this six week class. Each student is required to have their own tools. Tool kits will be available for purchase (18.00). Bring a hand towel. Aprons are a good idea, but optional. Fingernails must be cut short. Materials fee includes 25#clay, dip glazes and firings.
