Service Description

Class consists of 5 classes in studio and the off site firing. Studio dates are Tuesdays 6-9 on the following dates: 9/26, 10/3, 10/10, 10,17, skip a week for drying and bisque, then glaze week 10/31. Firing date is Saturday 11/4, with a rain date of Sunday 11/5. There is no makeup for the firing date so make sure you can attend the firing date(s) before registering for the class. For those new to the raku experience. Learn about the alternative firing process of raku. In the studio, learn about best construction techniques for raku and naked raku as well as surface preparation for varied firing results. Then all students will assist with an off site raku firing where you will see first hand the type of kiln, fuel source and reduction possibilities to get exciting results for your pots and sculptural pieces. Students should have their own tools. Tool kits are available in studio for $16. A list of other recommended items will be provided at the first class. Some clay experience is helpful but not required. If you have raku experience and are currently taking other classes at MCW, you can register for the firing only. You will receive raku clay to make your pieces and then bring them after bisque to the firing. See separate registration option for firing only. Please read through our policies and procedures. Cancellation Policy

Full refund or credit will be issued for any class cancelled by Markgraf Clayworks. If a student must cancel, they may do so for a full refund minus a $25 processing fee up to 7 days before the start date of the class. If a student cancels within 7 days of the start date of the class, they will receive a credit to be applied toward another class. Credit must be used within 6 months. Student will be responsible for any part of class fee greater than their credit due. No refunds will be given on or after the first day of class.
