Service Description

Join us on the wraparound porch of the exquisite Welsh Hills Inn, nestled in the lush countryside of Granville, Ohio. Enjoy stunning views while creating nature inspired dishes and trays. We will provide a bounty of freshly harvested botanicals and natural materials- ferns, leaves, flowers, nuts, sticks (also feel free to bring your own!)- that you will use to press into soft slabs of clay. Once your design is composed on your slab, you will be able to select from an array of different shaped molds that you will form your slab to. You will be able to add color with glazes. Each participant will have the opportunity to create one beautiful masterpiece reflective of the lush natural surroundings of Granville's Welsh Hills region. Pieces will be taken back to Markgraf Clayworks to finish the process of drying and firing and will be ready to pick up from Markgraf Clayworks in about four weeks from the date of the workshop. All pieces will be food safe and you will be able to use them for serving your fresh and lovingly prepared cuisine for years to come. Light refreshments will be served. You will have the opportunity to tour the common areas of the inn which is known for it's extensive and expertly curated art collection. Our hosts will be Jeff and Bobbi Noe. Markgraf Clayworks is located at 17 1/2 S. Park Place on the square in downtown Newark, third floor. Our entrance is between Babas Grill and the Salon on the Square. This is where finished pieces will be available for pickup approximately four weeks after the workshop. Arrangements can be made for alternate pickup if you cannot come up to the third floor. Cancellation Policy

Full refund or credit will be issued for any class cancelled by Markgraf Clayworks. If a student must cancel, they may do so for a full refund minus a $25 processing fee up to 7 days before the start date of the class. If a student cancels within 7 days of the start date of the class, they will receive a credit to be applied toward another class. Credit must be used within 6 months. Student will be responsible for any part of class fee greater than their credit due. No refunds will be given on or after the first day of class.
